Adolescent girls are particularly vulnerable to gender-based violence, unintended pregnancy, and HIV. Principal Investigator for the Population Council, Dr. Karen Austrian, and Senior Associate, Dr. Paul Hewett, hosted a webinar on their reflections of the Adolescent Girls Empowerment Program (AGEP) implemented to address these vulnerabilities on Wednesday, April 5, 2017. AGEP is a six-year randomized controlled trial that set out to measure the effect of a social, health, and economic assets program on the health and education outcomes of vulnerable adolescent girls in rural and urban sites across Zambia. The presenters shared an overview of the program and research initiative, findings from the latest round of data collection, and lessons learned.
